Let’s jump right in! Here are the eggs we have gotten from our beloved Easter Egger hens:
What Egg Colors Do Easter Egger Chickens Lay?
Most will lay a shade of blue or green. The eggs can range from light powder blue to blue, aqua, sea glass green, light green, spring green, sage and light olive. Easter Eggers can also lay “peach” which can range from a cream color to brown, with most being lightly tinted. It is possible for some Easter Eggers to lay white eggs but they are rare.
Can I Tell By Looking at a Hen What Egg Color She’ll Lay?
Sadly, no. You cannot tell what color an Easter Egger hen will lay by looking at her appearance. Feather color, leg color, nor ear lobe color are related to egg color. BUT if your Easter Egger hen has a pea comb, she is believed to have a 96% chance of laying a blue or green egg. It is possible to have a hen with a pea comb lay a peach egg (around a 4% chance; I’ve owned three myself). The presence of a pea comb is the only physical attribute that is linked to egg color and even then it is not a sure guarantee.

Can Easter Egg Chickens Lay Other Color Eggs?
Yes they can! Because Easter Eggers are a hybrid, they can lay almost any color egg. Some breeders have bred unique Easter Eggers who lay heavy bloom eggs that appear frosted in appearance, pink eggs and even speckled Easter Eggs. Since Easter Eggers are bred to lay colorful eggs, you can get some truly beautiful shades from these hens!
Easter Egger Bantam (Miniature) Chickens Exist!
Love colored eggs but want to keep sweet little bantam hens? Colored egg laying bantams are rare but they can be found! Check out my article on Bantam Colored Egg Layers for links directly to hatcheries offering the best chicks!
Easter Egger Fairy Eggs Exist, Too!
“Fairy” eggs are when a chicken lays a very small egg that contains no yolk, only a bit of egg white. They can be laid by any hen, which means they will be the color she normally lays, only tiny! Since we have so many Easter Egger hens, we have gotten some very pretty little fairy eggs.
