Fall is in the air and folks will soon begin their holiday baking, which means everyone will need eggs! A cutely packaged half-dozen in earthy, fall colors makes a stunning presentation with our autumn mini egg carton topper. Download it for free and let the season of sharing begin!
A Season of Harvest and Gratitude
As hens begin their late autumn molt, egg laying will slow down. Before that happens, wrap up a few for friends and family, who are probably hoping you’ll bring some to the next get-together!
Show Off Those Eggs
Let the beautiful array of egg colors show themselves off through a clear carton. It can be a great way to grab interest and strike up a conversation about your hens. Folks seem surprised by blue eggs and wonder if the green ones taste different. They’ll ooh over chocolate eggs and no one can resist a rare speckled beauty. Even differing shades of brown eggs look phenomenal when packaged so cutely!
Encourage Local Production
Sharing your eggs helps others feel more confident about buying locally laid eggs (including yours) and perhaps owning a couple of hens themselves. The cartons are reusable and recyclable so don’t be surprised if they are returned for free refills!
Give a Gift
This carton and tag combo makes it easy to take a gift to bosses, coworkers, teachers and elderly loved ones. The fresh-from-the-farmers-market look is enchantingly alluring and sure to delight the lucky recipient. A great way to share your side business or hen hobby with others!

Please note that these mini egg carton topper labels are intended for giving away eggs but are not state compliant to legally sell eggs. Visit our Etsy shop if you’d like a custom design for half-dozen eggs you intend to sell and use coupon code BLOGREADER25 to take 25% off!
How I Cut My Toppers Perfectly
The right tools make any job easier. I used my Creative Memories paper trimmer and a corner rounder punch to give these darling little labels a professional look. Mine were printed on white card stock and affixed with double sided tape. You can also use printable sticker paper to create peel-and-stick carton labels.
I hope you enjoy using these autumn mini egg carton toppers as much as I loved making them!
Who Laid Those Eggs?
The brown eggs shown in our example image were laid by two Welsummer hens. One hen named Cinnamon, who stars on our Weird Egg page, has a genetic pigmentation issue that causes her to lay speckled eggs. She was purchased from Hoover’s Hatchery and is being bred to a Whiting True Blue rooster to produce very rare speckled olive egger chicks. (Pullets can inherit her erratic pigmentation tendencies, which hopefully create stunning green eggs with brown dots, similar to wild bird eggs.) The green egg was laid by an Easter Egger and the cream colored eggs came from one of our Easter Eggers (the speckled ones) and a Golden Lace Wyandotte hen who lays an unusually light egg for her breed.
