Chick Tracking Sheet
Why bother keeping track of your pullet’s progress? There are several reasons, including determining if a certain line or hatchery’s offerings are performing as advertised. Recording her hatch date and date of first egg lets you estimate when her offspring will lay. Noting her feather color progress can remind you what color chicks feathered out into stunning shades.
Growing Up Fast
Chicks grow rapidly although it may not seem like it in the moment when you are waiting for them to come into lay. Jot down a few details you notice as she grows. Later, you’ll be so glad you did! If, for any reason, you need to sell the hen, you’ll be able to provide her buyer with valuable information which makes it easier to get top dollar.
