Just a little bit of an organic flower bud & blossom fertilizer makes your cut flower garden explode with color! It also helps your vegetable plants produce more flowers and fruit. This is the secret trick that farmer’s market gardeners have been using for years! Here’s my organic fertilizer recipe for HUGE blooms on everything in your garden:
Organic Fertilizer Recipe for Huge Blooms
This secret recipe uses all organic inputs in a blend that nourishes plants with a rush of nutrients that promote wild development of buds and enormous flower heads! If you’ve dreamed of having a positively stunning cut flower garden, English cottage-style garden or a luscious front flower bed overflowing with pops of color, here is the recipe:
Organic Products Used:
Dr. Earth brand Organic Bloom & Bud Booster
Organic Langbeinite Powder (potassium magnesium sulfate, a natural mineral containing K, Mg & Sulfur)
Liquid CalMag or Liquid Organic CalMag
Making the Organic Fertilizer Recipe for Huge Blooms:
The first step is making a “tea” from the Bud & Bloom Booster organic fertilizer. Simply add 4 Tablespoons to a quart mason jar, fill with water, shake vigorously until liquid is dark brownish then strain into your watering can (I use a 2.5 gallon Behrens), leaving the fertilizer solids in the jar. To the watering can add 1/2 teaspoon Langbeinite and 1/2 teaspoon CalMag. Use 3 quarts of water to make 1 gallon of foliar feed liquid. Water the leaves of your vegetable plants & flowers with this solution. Does not burn plants but is best applied in the morning or evening, not at full mid-day sun.
Making the Bud & Bloom Booster Tea:
Here is how the Bloom & Bud Booster “tea” looks in a quart mason jar. The jar on the left was just mixed and shaken for 60 seconds. The jar on the right has been sitting for 24 hours per package directions. Both worked and there was no noticeable difference in the 24 hour tea so no need to wait! The leftover solids can be dumped at the base of your flowering plants or garden veggies for longer-lasting fertilization.
This Fast, Easy Recipe Mixes Right in your Watering Can!
Simply add 4 Tablespoons of the powdery Bloom Booster to a quart size glass mason jar, fill with water, and shake vigorously until liquid is dark brownish. Strain the liquid into your watering can, leaving the fertilizer solids in the jar. To the watering can add 1/2 teaspoon Langbeinite and 1/2 teaspoon CalMag. Add 3 more quarts of clear water to make 1 gallon of foliar feed liquid. Water the leaves of your flowers (and flowering vegetable plants!) with this solution. Does not burn plants but is best applied in the morning or evening, not at full mid-day sun.
Using the Leftover Solids:
If you add water to the leftover solids, it makes a weak, greenish tea after 24 hours, as shown in the jar on the right. The jar on the left is a new batch that sat for 24 hours to show the difference. I sometimes use the weak tea to water patio plants and I always put the leftover solids at the base of flowering plants or garden vegetables I want to boost. This is a fantastic way to get double the fertilizing power from each scoop of this organic bloom booster!
A Riot of Flowering Color
This organic fertilizer recipe, when used as a foliar feed, rushes vital nutrients and nine trace minerals to your plants to promote heavy flowering. Plants absorb these minerals very quickly through their foliage; faster than through the root system. It will not overload your plants with nitrogen, which promotes green leafy growth. The organic langbeinite is a natural mineral that gives flowering plants the significant potassium content they need to keep buds forming. The leaves will absorb many of the nutrients within 15 minutes and the liquid that falls to the ground is taken up by both the plant roots and utilized by beneficial microbes in the soil. The result is positively massive flowering plants!
“Weakly, Weekly”
A Master Gardener once told me that it is better to apply a weak dose of organic fertilizer once a week than it is to heavily fertilize a plant one time. She advises “weakly, weekly” meaning you use what appears to be a watered-down foliar feed once or twice a week but which the plants greedily take up. Gentle, diluted foliar feedings do not burn plants and you will notice visible growth within a day or two after feeding. It happens fast!
Works on Flowering Garden Vegetables, too!
This foliar feed blend is the secret to giant, blocky bell peppers, flush-with-color sweet peppers and sizzling hot peppers in abundance! When used on tomato plants, the vines put out numerous trusses of flowers and fruit sets readily. Once flowers appear on your plants, begin using this foliar feed for impressive fruiting!
If you would like to know the two-step secret fertilizer recipe I use for significantly increased production in my vegetable garden, I share the 5 ingredient blend in the linked article above. (You’ll already have 3 of the 5 ingredients!)
Give it a Try This Year!
Try this organic fertilizer recipe for just one growing season. Neighbors constantly stopping you or tagging a pic of your house on Facebook to ask how on earth you’re getting such overflowing waves of never-ending, HUGE flowers on every plant may be annoying but I think you’ll love the results!
