Breeding Tip: Cross your heaviest speckled egg laying hens with your choice of rooster to begin your hybrid breeding program. This way you know the chicks have inherited the maximum amount of speckling from the mother hen. I used Welsummer hens bred to Whiting True Blue roosters to start my speckled olive egger breeding project.
