Where are people getting their custom stamps, uniquely shaped egg cartons and darling wood displays that make their egg pictures look so good? Some of these suppliers are not very well known but they should be because their products are darling! I’ve scoured the internet for years looking for these items myself and now I’ll share the links (and savings) with you! Here is where people are finding cute egg selling supplies:

egg Cartons

One of the first purchases chicken keepers make are egg cartons. There are a number of different options and all of them have attractive custom labeling options to help you be compliant with state and federal egg selling laws. Egg Displays

We are visual people living in a digital age. Whether selling eating eggs or hatching eggs, you’re going to need eye-catching images to post online. Unique egg displays are a must! Some of my best finds have come from Etsy and local antique stores. Opt for a shallow container that will hold 12 to 18 eggs, such as a farmhousey tray, dough bowl, or wooden egg display to showcase what your hens are laying. The container should be no more than 2 inches deep and 9 to 18 inches wide for the best photographing results. Here are some handy links to get you started!

Skinny Dough Bowls (Baguette Dough Bowls)

This 5 inch wide, 20 inch long, 2 inch deep skinny baguette bread bowl was purchased from a local antique store. Etsy has lots of options that look similar! This one on Amazon is similar to mine. (Affiliate link.)

Farmhouse Trays (Affiliate link)

Shallow trays are ideal because they prominently display your eggs without the edges casting a shadow across them. This 1 inch deep white one shown would make colored eggs really pop! (Affiliate link.)

Farmhouse Risers

Farmhouse style risers make for handy home storage that can be used for an egg photo shoot at any moment. I adore Etsy Seller Gabriel Home & Garden out of Katy, Texas who offers some of the best-looking risers I’ve seen. Opt for one with a lip edge to prevent eggs from rolling off!

Little Old Drawer Storage Trays

Do you like how cute vintage wooden drawers look? Check local antique stores for the best prices or browse through an ever-changing variety on Etsy. Opt for pieces that are 8 to 18 inches wide. The aqua blue drawer shown above is 8×8 inches. The pulp berry basket next to it came from Amazon here and is available in other colors. (Affiliate links.) Charming Hand Carved Wood & Metal Scoops

This scoop was a garage sale find that was originally painted red. I sanded it, dry brushed on white paint and used it for egg photos!

Decorative metal scoops are useful for propping up items you want to display. Home Goods is a great place to find them if you don’t have local antique stores nearby. Click the image to buy the stamp design shown.

Local Antique Store Finds

Don’t pass up local antique and home decor stores as this is where I have found some of my cutest pieces! The items are unique and generally priced much less than Etsy or Amazon. You’ll notice all the pieces I selected are shallow – 2 inches in depth or less – and adorably rustic.

The Layered Look

Stack individual pieces of home decor, trays and risers at different angles to create interesting images.

A farmhouse riser and vintage drawer are stacked one on top of the other to create a visually interesting scene. Baby’s Breath fresh flower sprigs came from the grocery store floral department. The old zinc mason jar lid came from a local antique store but can also be found on Etsy. Click the image to purchase the stamp design shown. How to Use Existing Tiered Trays and Farmhouse Decor

Chances are you’ve already got some darling pieces around your home so use them! I’ll walk you through how to use a common farmhouse tiered tray to produce eye-grabbing images for social media:

Step 1: Disassemble the tiered tray. We are going to use the pieces individually. My tray came from Amazon (affiliate link). Tip: Rectangular trays work slightly better for this than round ones.

Step 2: Angle the smaller tray inside the larger one. Layer additional pieces to create a visually interesting stack. My stack is sitting on white flour sack towels. The cutting board shaped riser is on Amazon and the white dough bowl can be found on Etsy or Amazon. (Amazon affiliate links)

Step 3: Fill with eggs and whatever you’re wanting to showcase then snap some pics!

This truly is the same stack as above. I added a ball of twine, fresh eggs and my stamps to create this scene.

Take pictures at different angles – even ones that seem odd or unnatural. They tend to make for incredibly interesting photos that will get more clicks.

Alternate Option: If you have a rectangle tiered stand you can simply rotate the top and bottom pieces to create a “stack” that lets you have an in-focus foreground and blurred background.

Upcycle and Repurpose!

Use anything you have available: trays, berry cartons, small drawers, wood cutting boards, baskets, flour sack towels, and farmhousey accessories. (Some affiliate links.) Haul a piece of furniture outside if needed and stage a few different scenes to photograph – you’ll be glad to have the diversity of images.

I photograph eggs on my white painted potting bench outside. Hauling a small piece of furniture outside can accomplish the same thing! The potting bench was built by my hubby who repurposed a vintage door and added decorative deck post legs to a simple planked work surface. It is painted with Valspar brand Storm Coat Semi-Gloss exterior paint.
