How to Use Printable Recipe Cards
I’m a graphic artist by trade so when I learned how to design my own recipe cards to be printed on inexpensive white cardstock, I was ecstatic! For years I’ve kept a stack by the computer so I can jot down recipes I come across online. They’re so handy! Let’s get started.

I use this paper trimmer by Creative Memories (affiliate link) and I absolutely love it! If you are planning on filling a recipe book, it is worth the investment.
Our recipe cards fit in any 4×6 recipe album. If you use 110 index weight cardstock, they slide effortlessly into the clear page protectors without bending.
A printed stack of our recipe cards tied with a string makes a cute (and easy) hostess gift!

Hi Tay,
I love your site. However I have a 3 x 5 in recipe box and cards which I much prefer. First how do I make your recipe cards in the 3×5 size??? I am unhappy with the few sites I have found with homemade cards on them which are done on thick paper eg yardstick. What is the weight of paper that could be used for regular index or file card weight?? Yes I am picky. I have too many recipes to be comfortable with the thick card .. I have been unable to get a definitive answer at Stapes or London Drug our two stationary stores (large) He says he needs a definitive answer!!!
I have been a Little House On The Prairie reader since age 7 and aren’t they wonderful??? I still have my copies and bought each of my children their own set.. They loved them as well.. I live here in the Canadian Prairies now a transplant from So Calif, San Francisco and my home state of Washington.. (Seattle) I thought I would love the Little House life but my parents having been raised in Colorado ranch country and Eastern Washington Wheat ranch country assured me there was a lot more work to it than the book led one to believe. However I have gardened in Washington, San Francisco and Seattle and now the Canadian Prairies and loved it all. My favourite animal is a Cow which I fell in love with as a two year old when we moved from Seattle to Los Angeles suburbs.. I still love Cows and cats and dogs and horses etc .. Well you get the idea. Love the recipes.. Happy Gardening.
